OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, students are expected to achieve the following objectives: 1. Knowledge: *Vocabulary: +Vocabulary: Lexical items related to the topic “Festivals”: names of different festivals around the world * Pronunciation: - Pronounce the new words correctly * Grammar: + Grammar: Yes / No questions 2. Competencies: a. General competencies: - Group work and independent working, pair work, linguistic competence, cooperative learning and communicative competence. - Be co-operative and supportive in pair work and teamwork. - Actively join in class activities. b. Specific competencies: - To introduce topic of the lesson “Festivals around the world”. To practice listening and reading. - An overview about the topic “Festivals around the world” - Lexical items related to the topic “Festivals”: names of different festivals around the world. 3. Qualities: - Ss interested in the festivals around the world and in Viet Nam. - Develop awareness of the festivals around the world . Develop self-study skills. - Ss have the good attitude to working in groups, individual work, and pairwork, cooperative learning and working. II. PREPARATIONS Teacher: Text book, laptop, loudspeaker, projector Students: Text books, studying equipment’s .
- III. PROCEDURE ACTIVITY 1: WARM-UP GW/PW/IW) (Whole class – 2’) 1. Aims: - This is the review and drill section of the unit. Encourage Ss not to refer back to the unit pages. Instead they can use what they have learnt during the unit to help them answer the questions. - That will help you and your Ss see how far they have progressed, and which areas need further practice. - Encourage Ss to review and drill section of the unit 9 2. Content: Review the previous lesson or have some warm-up activities to create a friendly and relaxed atmosphere to inspire Ss to warm up to the new lesson. 3. Products: - Interest and concentration of Ss on the class activities. - A friendly and relaxed atmosphere to the new lesson - A chance to speak English and focus on the topic of the lesson.. 4. Implementation: - Teacher instructs - Ss do as required TEACHER AND STUDENTS' CONTENTS ACTIVITIES Step 1: Task delivering - Chatting Step 2: Task performance + Greeting + Greeting: T_ Ss + Brainstorming + Brainstorming * Teacher divides the board, and divides the class into 2 teams. - Members of each team take turns and write as many types of films as possible in 2 minutes. - Students cross check their answers first. - Teacher confirms the answers and gives feedback. The group having more correct answers is the winner. OR : Teacher (T) asks Ss some questions about the previous lessons, - T may introduce some warm-up activities to creat a friendly and relaxed atmosphere to inspire Ss to warm up to the subject and new class

Step 3: Report and discussion - Ss join in the discussion and do as required Step 4: Judgement - T summarizes the discussion and leads to the lesson. ACTIVITY 2: KNOWLEDGE FORMATION (15') 1. Aim: To help Ss revise the vocabulary items they have learnt in the unit. To help Ss revise Yes / No questions. 2. Content: Revision on the words. Do the matching and filling to complete the sentences. Choose the correct question. 3. Products: Ss remember the words/ phrases. Ss can complete the sentences correctly. Ss can choose the correct answer A or B. 4. Implementation: TEACHER AND STUDENTS' CONTENTS ACTIVITIES Step 1: Task delivering * Looking back - T sets the scene/ context for doing 1. It extends their imagination in a field related to the unit topic...... 2. Content: Answer the questions Think of a new festival. Discuss. Draw picture. Present the festival.... 3. Products: Ss can answer the questions correctly Ss can think of a new festival, draw and present the festival to the class. 4.
